Our focus is Latin America, currently with a leading position in Argentina
Vista is a leading independent operator, with its main assets in Vaca Muerta, the largest shale oil and shale gas play under development outside North America. The company was listed as a SPAC in Mexico in 2017 and subsequently listed on the NYSE in 2019, after having purchased two companies with a full operating platform in Argentina in 2018.
Vista’s investment thesis is to develop its high-return shale oil drilling inventory of up to 550 wells spanning 132,600 Vaca Muerta acres, while leveraging its cash-flow generating conventional producing assets and spare capacity in legacy infrastructure to treat and evacuate incremental production.
Since 2018, Vista ignited a strong growth trajectory, showing solid production results to date. By June 2021 the company had drilled and completed 32 new Vaca Muerta wells delivering best-in-basin productivity, proving the top-quality of its acreage and its growth capabilities.
In Mexico, Vista acquired a 50% interest of three contracts, for blocks CS-01 and A-10 in the Macuspana basin, and block TM-01 in the Tampico-Misantla basin.
The company keeps evaluating other E&P opportunities in the region.
