We are Vista; we operate with integrity, innovation and agility. We work as a team to do things right, the first time and every time. We develop our business in a sustainable way to create value in the present while building a future for generations to come.

A sustainable approach to run our business

Safety Management

Our ambition is to become a Tier 1 company in terms of safety performance. We have made solid progress in the first two years, since we took over the operation of our assets in early 2018, by creating a high-performance safety culture among our employees and contractors through the implementation of a corporate Operating Management System (OMS) in alignment with IOGP / IPIECA guidelines.

We have implemented robust safety programs (such as Life Saving Rules), improved reporting capabilities, and established strategic partnerships with our main contractors (One-Team) sharing the same vision, project objectives and performance incentives.

These actions have resulted in a 68% reduction in Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) and a 81% reduction in Lost Time Incidents Frequency (LTIF), from 2018 to 2019.

Social Engagement

We are committed to foster the communities where we operate with an inclusive business model, enhancing the sense of belonging through open dialogue, active co-operation, volunteerism and social engagement initiatives.

  • Vista is committed to the development of Catriel, Province of Río Negro, the city that is closest to our operation, and supports welfare, health, sports and educational projects.
  • In Neuquén and Buenos Aires, we are actively engaged with Enseña por Argentina, an NGO dedicated to improving the education of children in vulnerable neighborhoods.
  • We are sponsors of Centro PYME, a Neuquén network dedicated to the development of local suppliers.
  • In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, Vista donated food in Buenos Aires through the #seamosuno initiative, as well as intensive-care beds and other medical equipment for hospitals in Neuquén and Rio Negro.

Environmental Stewardship

We are committed stewards of the environment, leveraging new technologies to reduce our footprint and incorporating sustainable practices into our operations.

We strive to meet or exceed regulatory requirements, seeking to improve guidelines and procedures when we feel the standards are not high enough.

  • More than 99% of our hydrocarbon production is transferred by ducts, minimizing trucking transportation
  • Our Bajada del Palo Oeste project was started in full development mode with dedicated facilities, thus avoiding gas flaring, water and oil trucking
  • We use of sand boxes at well locations, reducing amount of silica dust in the air
  • We are launching a program to build our carbon footprint inventory of GHG emissions (Scope 1 and 2), which will result in transparent reduction targets as of 2021

United Nations Global Compact

In August 2020 we officially adhered to the United Nations Global Compact program, supporting the Ten Principles on Human Rights, Labour, Environment and Anti-corruption. Through this commitment, we expressed our intention to implement those principles, incorporating them as part of Vista’s business strategy, culture and day-to-day operations.

United Nations Sustainable Development Goals

In 2015, the United Nations General Assembly adopted 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that set the global agenda for equitable, socially inclusive and environmentally sustainable economic development to achieve worldwide prosperity by 2030.

In pursuing this purpose, we are in the process of identifying certain goals on which we can have the greatest impact, supported by initiatives to achieve short-term targets, as well as forward-looking sustainable development programs.
